February’s Employee of the Month- John Stephens
John began his IT career in the Detroit, Michigan area. He worked for 2 years as Network Engineer in Michigan before moving to the Pacific Northwest to join the Convergence team. We knew immediately that John was defiantly someone we had to have on board. Initially hired as a Systems Engineer he quickly moved up the ladder to a Network Administrator and then in April 2007, Director of Service Support.
Before coming to the Pacific Northwest John attended The University of Michigan and later graduated from Mississippi State University with a BS in Geosciences. He then obtained an Associate of Science from Macomb University in Computer Networking.
John spent 4 years (1995- 1999) in the Air Force. Highlights of his service included:
- Operational Meteorologist, stationed with 10th Combat Weather Squadron, assigned to 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne)
- Attended Airborne school, survival school, Airman Leadership School
- Computer Manager at various units
John & his family moved across the country during this time serving in the Air Force and working to build his career in IT.
John is happily married to his beautiful wife Cindy and they have 2 wonderful children. They enjoy horseback riding, hiking, fishing and the outdoors. They spend their free time managing their 5 acre farm which includes their incredible Clydesdale horses in La Center, Washington.
