Time goes by so fast for all of us. My daughter is now 2 years old. For any of you who have experienced this exciting age in children you probably know the one question that is asked every few minutes: “Why?” The question never seems to end. “Why this? Why that? Why? Why? Why?” Remember those days? Lately, Mabel has been asking me why I am going to work. The first few time I just replied with what made sense. There were various versions that had a logical reason. Something like: “That’s my job.” Or, “That’s how I make money.” Of course all those responses were followed with another barrage of “Whys.” Finally, last week she asked me the same question: “Why are you going to work?” I stopped and answered her: “Honey, I’m going to work to promote freedom and the American dream.” Guess what? She didn’t ask another “why?” But, to be honest, I had answered her truthfully.
