The Lock Up
Calling all cars! Calling all cars! Be on the look-out for Scott McMillan, mild-mannered Convergence Networks Service Technician. Scott was most recently seen at the Convergence Networks support center, and local authorities have been alerted. The suspect’s crimes include hopelessly friendly customer service, fixing technical issues with a smile, and other most heinous deeds. We’re looking to have him locked up for good, and the MDA Lock-Up is going to make that happen.
Okay, so Scott is actually a great guy. All kidding aside though, he is going to go to “jail.” On Tuesday, June 9, 2009, Scott will be participating in The Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Milwaukie and Gladstone Lock-up. The event will be held at La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant in Oregon City, OR. In the morning on June 9th, following an anonymous tip, “deputies” from the MDA are going to track Scott down here at Convergence and take him away. He’ll be jailed at the Oregon City La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant until he can make bail. And “How does he make bail?” you might ask. Well, that’s where you come in-the jailbird can only fly the coop when enough donations have been raised to pay his bail of $1,600.
Now $1,600 is a lot of money, especially in today’s tough economy, but the money is definitely well spent with the MDA. For the complete bail amount, two local kids can attend MDA Summer Camp where they can do fun things like fishing, swimming, horseback riding, boating, field hockey, baseball, arts and crafts, nature study, talent shows, cookouts, and other entertainment. It’s a chance for kids 6-17 with neuromuscular disease to get away and be a kid.
Here at Convergence we’re supporting Scott in his good deeds, so we’ll be contributing to his “bail” total. After all, we kind of need him here to answer the phone, fix technical issues, and basically make the computer gremlins go away. If you’d like to help too, you can visit his wanted poster here,

From this secure site, you can make your own donation and join Convergence Networks and The Muscular Dystrophy Association in helping kids with neuromuscular disease. We can do it together.
The Faces of Convergence
The June Featured Employee – John Shenberger

Originally from Sebewaing, MI, John Shenberger is the newest addition to the Convergence Networks team, working with Pod Charlie as a Service Technician since April 2009.
John is a graduate from Millington High School, and later joined the Navy in June of 2004. He served as an Information Technology Technician until March 2008. During this period, he was responsible for administering a number of servers and workstations for over 300 hundred users and working closely with highly classified and technical information. While stationed in Japan, John met his wife Polly and married last December. Leaving the military just over a year ago, John moved to the Northwest and began pursuing his Microsoft certifications, which currently include his MCP and Security +, and he is also in the process of getting his degree in Computer Science.
When not working with computers, John enjoys watching football (particularly the Michigan Wolverines), traveling, fishing, camping, and of course, video games.
April showers turned to May flowers.

May flowers (and more rain) turned into sun. And, of course, now it’s June, so summer is right around the corner.
