September’s Employee of the Month – Steve Eason
Having just joined Convergence in October, Steve Eason has hit the ground running as our newest Technical Services Director. Steve has been working most of his working career in the IT industry. Steve is a Florida native, where he lived until moving out to Oregon 7 years ago. His wife was born and raised in Oregon and had moved out to Florida where they met. He has 2 beautiful girls, Emily who is 15 and Alea Joy, who is 12.
His father worked in the IT industry and as result he was exposed to computers at a very young age. The first job that started his trek into the world of IT was at a bank, where he provided desktop support for over 500 workstations in one of their nationwide call centers. After working there for over 8 years, the bank ended up cutting jobs company wide, which included his position in the call center.
They were considering moving to Oregon to get closer to his wife’s family, and they felt that this was the best opportunity. So they packed their bags and moved out to Oregon. Unfortunately they arrived in the summer of 2001, just in time for the economic downturn.
Steve is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, with a focus on security. He considers himself a jack of all trades, having explored web design, graphic design, custom computer building and whatever else sparks his interest. He is very involved with his church, enjoys reading, playing computer games and spending time with his family.
