November 4th 2008. On April 4th, 2004 Convergence Networks created its first case in our current helpdesk systems Remedy.  On November 4th 2008 we created case number 100,001, with us proactively alerting a client to their failure of their backup due to a drive not being in the backup drive. Convergence Networks is incredibly proud that in just 4 years and 8 months, Convergence Networks has created over 100,000 cases helping our clients both proactively and reactively, with everything from complete network outages to simple questions on setting a screen savers. Even with that volume of case load, as our surveys show, we still continue to amaze our clients with our level of service. A special thanks to our staff who have worked through this 100,001 cases.

November 1st 2008. CONVERGENCE NETWORKS TURNS 8.  Eight years ago two young technicians had a dream of providing small business history-making customer service and support that was built around us doing it different, better, more proactive, less reactive, with the insight into IT that normally only large organizations could afford.  It was then that Portland, Oregon’s first managed service provider was born. We started with two people and have grown to a staff of over 30 people.  We started with six customers and have grown to over 125.  Today their are many copycats, but there is and will be only one Convergence Networks.  We were the first, we are the best.  We have the best people, the best technology, the best customers, the best support and the ideas to continue to stay ahead of the curve.  Convergence Networks is happy to celebrate our eight-year anniversary.  Thank you to those of you who have helped and supported us and a special thanks to those of you who have been with us all eight years.

August 18th 2008. Convergence Networks invited the Big Brother Big Sister’s Portland Charter out to share with our staff some insight into the exciting and rewarding world of being a Big Brother Big Sister.  From this meeting several of our staff have signed up to become a Big Brother or Big Sister to help those children in need within our community.

June 15th 2008. Convergence Networks donated our time  in 2007 to assist Big Brother Big Sisters Portland Charter with completing a full network evaluation, present our findings and helping them apply for grants to receive funds allowing them to correct their crumbling network infrastructure, which was putting the organization at risk. In May 2008 the grants were rewarded and repair efforts have begun.  Convergence Network is very proud to help such a great organization within the community.

April 1st 2008. Thanks to our Deverra © Proactive Monitoring Software and our Network Operations Center watching our clients desktops and Notebooks for hard drive failures, we were able to avoid over 100 failed hard drive crashes in the first quarter of 2008 alone.  Over the same time period, our company experienced zero “emergency” drive failures on our clients networks, rather alerted our customers to all pending hard drive failures, coordinated replacement parts, scheduled a technician to make the proper repairs within a time window that was convenient for our clients and imaged the data to a new drive avoiding data loss and costly user downtime.
